A graduate of the University of Michigan's esteemed Musical Theatre program, Tessa is a Cleveland-native who moved to NYC in 2005 to pursue life as an actress. Represented by The Krasny Office, she has been seen commercially (Chobani Greek Yogurt!) and heard by 8 year olds across the country (Pokemon Learning League!) She made her television debut as Harper on PBS's THE ELECTRIC COMPANY, currently in syndication on HBO Family. Tessa has performed onstage in NYC, in both NYMF and FRINGENYC, as well as in extended runs on Theatre Row with Musicals Tonight, and Theater1010 (now, Theater2020).
She credits a turning point in her career to her portrayal of "Babe" in the Broadway-bound GOOD NEWS at the Goodspeed Opera House. She received an "Outstanding Supporting Actress" nomination from the Connecticut Critics Circle and a chance to perform alongside musical theatre luminaries at Goodspeed's 50th anniversary gala. Her work earned her a rave in The New York Times (a lifelong dream!) and helped propel her career to star regionally at Arkansas Rep, Arrow Rock Lyceum, the Weathervane Theatre, Gretna Theatre, and Saint Michael's Playhouse; and to originate new roles at her artistic home, the Matthew Corozine Studio Theatre, in midtown Manhattan.
Tessa teaches a summer theatre intensive at Kent State University, while coaching a roster of 100+ actors, privately. She has cast for both voiceover and stage, with accounts ranging from small animation projects and radio voiceover to large scale Shakespearean productions. Tessa consults on image and branding for Aaron Lenhart Photography, in NYC, and has been his resident stylist since 2015.
